Gareth Bale playing with anger

Gareth Bale admitted to playing with “anger” amid uncertainty over his Real Madrid future heading into Wales’ Euro 2020 qualifier.

Zinedine Zidane told Bale he was free to leave during the transfer window, however, the Wales star remained in Madrid to force his way into the team.

Bale has scored two goals and supplied two assists in LaLiga this term, though there has been reports claiming the 30-year-old wants to depart the Spanish capital at season’s end.

Speaking ahead of Thursday’s qualifier against Slovakia, Bale said: “You play with a lot of emotion. Anger comes into it of course, but I haven’t got anything to clear my mind about.

“I try and give my best whether here [with Wales] or in Madrid and I will continue to do that.”

Wales manager Ryan Giggs added: “I think now, looking from the outside, things have improved. The way that he’s playing – which is all that footballers want to do, they want to play, they want to get minutes, they want to do well – I’ve always said he’s at a fantastic club.

“Of course, it would have unsettled him because it was apparently very close for him going.

“But things might have changed. Things do change quite quickly in football and now he’s playing, he’s loved, he’s happy, and I expect him to carry on doing what he’s doing for Real Madrid.

“If Gareth Bale is at your club and he’s training well and he gets the chance to play, he’s always going to keep you interested because he can turn a game on its head, he can score goals and he’s such an asset.

“So I’m not surprised in that respect. I was surprised with what happened in the summer – I think everyone from the outside thought it was a bit strange, but it seems like everything has gone a bit quiet now.

“I think that’s all you ask for – for players to be in good form for their clubs and then take it into the international arena.”

Wales head to Trnava fourth in Group E in Euro 2020 qualifying, four points adrift of leaders Croatia and three behind second-placed Slovakia.

Emre Can not happy at Juventus

Emre Can said he is unhappy at Serie A champions Juventus as the Germany international struggles for game time in Turin.

Can has only made three substitute Serie A appearances for Juventus after being left out of the club’s Champions League squad this season.

The 25-year-old midfielder was a 71st-minute substitute against Inter last week, taking his tally to just 78 league minutes in 2019-20 under head coach Maurizio Sarri.

Can did manage to complete the full match in Germany’s 2-2 friendly draw with Argentina on Wednesday and he told reporters: “I’m not happy [at Juventus] right now. I don’t play much at the moment.

“Last season I played a lot. Especially in important games for Juventus. And I also played well there.

“I haven’t had a chance this season. But now I think, when I come back to the club, I will get chances again.

“I am definitely grateful to Joachim Low. Because I didn’t play much in the club and he invited me anyway.

“Nevertheless, he gave me the chance. That’s why I was simply happy that I played again.”

Can and Germany are back in action on Sunday, when they travel to Estonia for their Euro 2020 qualifier.

Kimmich understands Muller´s Bayern frustrations amid doubts over future

Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich understands team-mate Thomas Muller’s frustrations as he weighs up his future with the Bundesliga champions.

Muller is considering his future at Bayern, where the 30-year-old forward has not started a league match under Niko Kovac since September’s draw against rivals RB Leipzig.

A January exit has been touted for Bayern veteran Muller, who was linked with a move to Premier League giants Manchester United previously.

Asked about Muller following Germany’s 2-2 international friendly draw with Argentina on Wednesday, Kimmich told reporters: “In the first place a very big identification figure would leave the club, especially for the fans.

“I myself know the FC Bayern only with Thomas Muller. Without him the club would not be there, where he is now. It’s the case that when he comes into the game he always plays well. In the last game he has prepared another goal. Also in the games before.

“Against Cologne or Mainz he even prepared two goals and also scored one goal, if I remember right. We all know that he has qualities that are difficult for the opponent to control.”

Rodriguez could leave AC Milan

There is a lot of turmoil at San Siro these days. Even after winning last weekend, AC Milan have sacked Marco Giampaolo after just a few months since appointing him as the manager of a new team that was expected to be built. Instead of him came Stefano Pioli, the coach that many Milan fans are unhappy about, but now one of their players could be leaving the club.

According to Blick, Ricardo Rodriguez could leave the club in January. The left-back has fallen behind Theo Hernandez in the pecking order and it does not look as if he is anywhere near replacing him in that position. This means he would have to stay at the club and wait for his opportunity patiently. But Blick are suggesting he is not ready to do that.

The Swiss international does not want to spend the entire season as second choice left-back, especially now that Euro 2020 is around the corner. Reportedly interested clubs are Atletico, Schalke, Borussia Dortmund, Roma…

Contract extensions expected at West Ham

West Ham are preparing themselves for some big and important moves in the weeks to come. After an interesting start of the season and a really good transfer window, that has seen them sign Sebastian Haller from Eintracht Frankfurt, among others, they are now ready to offer contract extensions to several first-team players.

According to reporting of The Sun, the Hammers are set to offer a new contract to Aaron Cresswell, but are also considering to do so with another three players. Cresswell’s start to the season has been particularly strong, with two goals he scored in the last couple of weeks. He also scored a stunning free-kick against Manchester United and now West Ham want to keep him at the club until June 2023.

His current contract is ending in 2021, which would make this a tw0-year extension. The Sun are also suggesting that Mark Noble, Lukasz Fabianski and Michail Antonio could all be offered new deals. Their contracts run through June 2021.
